The conventions used such as fire symbolises from the lyrics, the actions in the film are linked with the lyrics in the song as it shows a broken relationship which keeps breaking and getting back together. The  high angled shots show the dominant person in this relationship. The use of jump cuts would empathises the different stages that the couple goes through in their relationships. The low key lighting empathises the destroyed relationship, it empathises the sadness and dominance that the male has. This representation conforms to the stereotypes as it shows that the male in the video is angry and dominant whist the female is soft and fragile.
The meaning behind the video is rather explicit as it is obvious and is easy to understand that the relationship is broken and is not going so well.
